German-Togolese NGO · since 2022

Together, let’s build a better future, for every child.

Essomé supports Togolese children in precarious situations with their education, their health and their personal development.

Who we are

A German-Togolese NGO dedicated to children

“Essomé” is a German-Togolese non-governmental organisation for social development cooperation and international solidarity.

Founded in 2022, it works for the development and well-being of Togolese children living in precarious conditions. It is active in education, health and the psychological development of children.

“Essomé” is a word in Ewe, one of the most widely spoken languages in Togo, meaning “future”.

Our vision

The hope of a better future sometimes seems out of reach, like a bird without its wings.

Young people are the future, everywhere in the world. In Togo, many children have enormous potential, but the conditions they grow up in often make it hard for them to flourish.

Giving them the means to grow, to dream, to fulfil themselves and to build their country: that is our vision.

What we do

Three ways to change children’s lives for good

Education

We work for quality education by supporting pupils, improving schools and guiding young people towards a sustainable future.

Health

We improve access to healthcare by equipping local hospitals and running prevention campaigns tailored to each community’s needs.

Psychosocial

We encourage independence by helping everyone develop the ability to make informed and responsible decisions, at work and in private life.

Key figures

These figures push us to give our very best and to keep beating our own records. We are happy to grow and to help a little more every day.
