2. Our principle: as little data as possible
This website uses no analytics or audience measurement, no advertising pixels and no tracking cookies. Fonts are served from our own server, so no data is sent to Google or any other font service when you visit.
3. Hosting and server log files
The website is hosted by HOSTINGER INTERNATIONAL LTD, 61 Lordou Vironos Street, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus (European Union). On every visit, the server automatically records technical information: IP address, date and time, page visited, browser and operating system, and referring page.
This data is used solely to keep the website running and secure (for example against attacks). Legal basis: our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). It is not combined with other data and is deleted by the host at the end of its technical retention period. A data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR) governs this processing.
4. Cookies
Visitors receive no cookies. Only people who manage the website and log in to its administration receive the technical cookies needed to sign in.
5. Contact form
When you write to us using the contact form, we receive the information you enter by email: name, email address, subject, message and the language of the page. This data is not stored in the website’s database.
It is used only to answer your request. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), given by ticking the box on the form, and, where your request concerns membership or a partnership, pre-contractual measures (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). You may withdraw your consent at any time. We delete your messages once your request has been dealt with, unless we are legally required to keep them.
6. Contact by email or phone
If you contact us directly by email or phone, we process your contact details and your request only to reply to you, under the same principles.
7. Membership
The information provided in the membership form (identity, contact details, date of birth, bank details for SEPA direct debit) is processed to manage members and collect fees (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). It is kept for the duration of the membership and then for the retention periods required by law (in particular tax law).
8. Donations via GoFundMe
Online donations are collected on the GoFundMe platform, which you reach through a link. Your data (payment, identity) is then processed by GoFundMe under its own privacy policy. We only receive the information the platform shares with us about your donation.
9. Links to social networks
Our website contains simple links to our Instagram and Facebook pages. No data is sent to these networks unless you click the links. Once on their sites, their privacy policies apply.
10. Recipients and transfers
Your data is never sold or passed on. It is only shared with our technical service providers (hosting, email) as far as necessary, or where required by law.
11. Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), objection (Art. 21) and to withdraw your consent at any time (Art. 7(3)). To exercise them, write to ngo@essome.org.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. 12. Security
The website is served entirely over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), so information sent through the form cannot be read by third parties in transit.

We may update this policy if the website or the law changes. The version published on this page is always the one in force.
